Live 8 stage 2^nd July 2005 in front of the Victory Column in Berlin

The Live 8 concert in front of the Victory Column in Berlin was part of a global rock concert under the motto “Make Poverty History”. It took place concurrently in ten places dotted around G8 member states as well as South Africa on 2^nd July 2005. The concerts were to a large degree initiated and organized by Bob Geldorf and U2 singer Bono. In Berlin the audience on this beautiful summer's day was tightly packed all the way from the Victory Column to the Brandenburg Gate.

Das Live 8 Konzert vor der Berliner Siegessäule war Teil eines weltumspannendes Rockkonzerts, das unter dem Motto „Make Poverty History“ (Macht Armut zur Vergangenheit / Lasst Armut Geschichte werden) am 2. Juli 2005 gleichzeitig an zehn Orten der G8-Mitgliedstaaten sowie in Südafrika stattfand. Organisiert und initiiert wurden die Konzerte maßgeblich von Bob Geldof und dem U2 Sänger Bono. In Berlin standen die Zuschauer an diesem herrlichen Sommertag dicht gedrängt von der Siegessäule bis zum Brandenbuger Tor.
